When we were house hunting in 2016, we found the number of basement bars in Milwaukee staggering in both number and individualization. Drinking culture in Wisconsin is well established, and the phenomena of crafting your own bar at home is something we are fascinated by.
We both agree that drinking in Wisconsin has a certain smell. We're not talking "bar at 2am smell", but rather the aromas of good liquor muddled with the smell of the woods- whether from nature or from the inevitable wood paneling and handcrafted wood tables and bars you find in basement bars, supper clubs, and local watering holes.
This Yeti, Bourbon + Sandalwood is the first in our Boozy Wisconsin collection. It's a complex blend of the warmth of bourbon- charred oak and smoke, a hint of cherry and a little bit of leather and pipe tobacco. It's tempered with the woodsy and earthy notes of sandalwood.
This candle is hand poured and contains 100% soy wax, a cotton wick, and premium fragrance and essential oils.
Soy burns remarkably clean and long- expect this guy to burn for 45-55 hours. And when it’s gone, simply wash out the jar with hot soapy water and use it to hold little treasures.
Scent throw: 3/5. This Yeti is a great accent to a room, it’s not in-your-face strong, rather it’s meant to enhance the mood of your space rather than be the first thing you notice about the room.

Let's talk about basic candle care. These apply to all 100% soy candles, not just Yetis.
1. Trim your wick - Before every lighting, trim the wick of your candle to about 1/4'' for a clean beautiful burn. You can use a fancy wick trimmer, a pair of scissors, or even just your fingers (which is what we do 99% of the time).
2. Let it burn- Allow the wax of your candle to melt to the edge of the container every time to ensure a complete and even burn. This prevents tunnelling.
3. Never let a burning candle out of your sight. And don't burn it for more then 4 hours at a time.
4. Let it go- when only 1/4'' of wax remains in the jar, blow it out and clean it out with hot soapy water. Recycle it or repurpose the jar or tin.
